Gobin’s Limited is over 50 years old and was registered in 1968.

It was formed to pioneer the manufacture of ready-made garments in Guyana under the brand “Buffalo” which it exported to North America and Europe. The company then engaged in dairy farming and managed one of the most modern dairy farms in Guyana. The company moved on to the importation and distribution of heavy construction and agricultural equipment in Guyana and was the agent for Massey Ferguson tractors in Guyana. In 2008 the company entered the food and beverage importation and distribution business and was sole distributor for popular labels such as Countre Pure milk and Tampico juices amongst other items. The company also engages in financial advisory services and project preparation documents. In 2001 Buffalo Foods was started to manage the food importation and distribution business. With Guyana’s newly discovered oil and gas industry, the company would like to position itself through joint ventures and other strategic alliances to take advantage of opportunities in this sector.

Our Team

Mr. Francis Gobin

M.B.I.M. (now deceased) was founder and Managing Director of Gobin’s Limited. Mr. Francis Gobin was also the founding member of Buffalo Foods and had extensive experience in business development in Guyana having served in various positions including the President of the Guyana Manufacturers Association, Director of Guyana’s largest indigenous Bank and private sector advisor to the President of Guyana.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. Dane Gobin

Holds a BSc. and M.B.A from St. John’s University New York and is a non-executive Director of the company (please see his CV attached). He has a wealth of experience and also heads the companies consulting arm. After graduating from University in 1989, he guided the diversification of Gobin’s Limited and then the formation of Buffalo Foods for which he currently provides consulting services in business development. He is also currently the CEO of the Iwokrama International Centre, an international organization involved in rainforest conservation and development in Guyana Iwokrama International Centre, Secretary of the Diplomatic Corps in Guyana and Trustee of the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry’s mutual fund.

Mr. Marc Gobin

Holds a BSc. from St. John’s University in New York and is the company’s Secretary and General Manager responsible for the daily operations of the company. He is also the General Manager of Buffalo Foods.

Mr. Rainer Gobin

Holds a BSc. from St. John’s University in New York and is the procurement officer who is based in Toronto, Canada.
